Hi all
Looking to buy my first van and was going to look at an ex welfare van. Just wondering if anyone has experience converting these and if the back wall is easy to remove??
Thanks
Ivy

Greetings & Welcome!
Not sure what a welfare van is, can you describe it a little better?
Cheers!
Brits with their funny names for everything. Before I looked it up, I was thinking like a mobile health center for rural areas…
A welfare van is basically a mobile kitchen/mess hall/toilet/etc that can be driven to work site and support personnel there. Some have like 7-8 seats so it is possible to transport people to the work site too.
Greetings!
ahhhhhh… Okay, almost ready made camper van then. Makes sense.
Cheers!
Dude that’s awesome. Already has most of the bones in it. Not sure on that set up but it must have a solid frame to convert to whatever layout you need. At least the plumbing is in!
I am a total newbie so not much experience here but I would love to find one of those models just to see the inside. Not sure if we have those here in the States.
Greetings!
I think they’d be called a Class B camper van here in the USA. Just swap out the seats & table for a dinette that turns into a bed, and it would be ready to go. Maybe make access to the bathroom from the cabin if it isn’t already there…
Cheers!
