Me and a friend are looking to drive to Portugal at the end of March. And looking for suggestions on places to stay and visit along the way. I think we are going to be on the road for about 10 days in total.

That sounds like an awesome trip! If you’re driving to Portugal and have around 10 days, I’d definitely recommend taking a scenic route and mixing cities with coastal spots. Depending on where you’re starting from, a great route could go through the south of France—maybe stop in Lyon or Bordeaux—then hit northern Spain. San Sebastián and Bilbao are both worth visiting, especially for food. From there, head into Portugal through the Douro Valley, which is insanely beautiful.
In Portugal, don’t miss Porto (great vibes, wine, and views), then head south through Coimbra to Lisbon. Spend a couple of days exploring the capital, then maybe finish in the Algarve—places like Lagos or Sagres are perfect for relaxing by the sea. Try to book a mix of guesthouses and maybe a couple of camping spots if you’re into that. March is still a bit off-season, so prices should be reasonable too.
