We are looking to spend a year on the road and are interested in doing a camper van buildout to tow our heavily modded travel trailer. The travel trailer weighs about 4,500 pounds fully loaded. Has anyone else towed a travel trailer with their camper van? Any recommendations for models that would be a good place to start?
So far, it looks like a Nissan NV3500 HD is the way to go.

Older American made 1 ton vans with V8’s are good for towing.
