Toilet with black tank

We would like to downsize from trailer to a camper van, which will also be our daily driver. We’re not living in it we’re just taking vacations. Our trailer has a traditional toilet with black tank. Is there a reason other than black tank storage that you don’t put them in the campers vans? Thanks for your input!

Greetings & Welcome!

I think space and convenience are the biggest factors. Porta-potties have their own tank and can be dumped into any toilet. Bucket types use plastic bags which can be properly dumped in many more places than dump stations.

Good Luck & keep us posted!

Cheers!

We use a trash bag-lined groover with some sawdust, and a tiny bit of RV toilet stuff to keep the smell down. When we’re done the trash bag goes into the nearest dumpster.
