Taking air conditioning and lighting out of van

I have a VW T5 Caravelle and it comes stock with lighting and air conditioning in the back for the two rows of seats as it was initially a 9 seater, and i’m now looking to insulate the roof to then have wood on the ceiling with more house like lighting. I was wondering if people have had similar things which they have done and how the disconnected the lights and air conditioning, thanks

That’s very interesting.

I would strongly suggest to have the A/C unit professionally uninstalled due to the refrigerant enclosed in the compressor. These gases are no good for the environment and in some states, it is illegal to release them to the atmosphere.

Greetings & Welcome!

It seems like most of the people who have done what you’re thinking, later regret it.

Rear heat & AC can really make it nice to pull up and camp without getting out…

Cheers!
