This is the kind of thing that other states, cities and communities need to give more consideration to. I can understand the illegality of it if a vehicle is clearly run down, unsightly, and not in working order. Folks have a right to be concerned about their property values and safety. However, for legitimate van lifers, in working vehicles, it should be legal. Even if there was a way to go to city hall and pay a fee to register as a van lifer and a receive a permit/sticker to put on display to let the police/community know that you are a responsible member of their community.

Greetings!

The problem lies in the fact than many of these people are druggies, thieves, and deadbeats that think societies rules don’t apply to them. They leave needles, trash, and human waste everywhere, and rob and steal from their neighbors.

Vehicle dwellers aren’t the real problem, law breakers are, but for whatever reason they aren’t going after the actual law breakers, throwing them in jail, and getting them clean and giving them the help to live a productive life. Unfortunately there’s better profits in ticketing and towing vehicle dwellers.

Being homeless, or living in a vehicle shouldn’t be illegal, but instead the actual criminals need to be dealt with, and dealt with swiftly and harshly.

Cheers!
