Replacing flexi solar panel

I currently have a flexible solar panel working via a ctek 250dse and Sargent 160e control panel. The solar panel seems to have given up (I am aware of the failure of flexi panels and there downfall)
I am looking to fit a CIGS Flexi panel in its place. My current panel is stuck to the poptop and would probably be a pain to remove.
I am wondering if I can stick the new CIGS panel on top and decommission the old panel. It’s going to the same width but longer, so I will pack out the rest of the roof to make a level surface. Is there any clear drawbacks to this theory??

Greetings & Welcome!

I would double check each component first, since even the flexible panels usually outlast the controllers.

If it is in fact the panel, your plan sounds solid.

Cheers!
