Remove bedliner before subfloor installation?

I recently got a van that I am starting to convert. It came with a (seemingly) sprayed on bedliner over the floor and lower walls.

I plan to add some foam board insulation on the floor, and I wasn’t sure if I should remove the coating before installing the sub-floor. I fear the bedliner will affect the adhesive’s performance since it is rough and the boards wouldn’t be able to sit flush against the surface/glue. Any experience with this? Should I remove it or keep it as is?

I know it will be a pain to remove, but I am willing to put in the effort if it’s needed.
Thanks for the help in advance!

Here is a picture for reference:

I would definitely keep it.

I would keep it. Try a few different adhesives to see what sticks. The spray on liner very likely offers some noise reduction and possibly some slight insulation factor. I actually sprayed my floor, ceiling, and walls with something similar called Spectrum from second skin. I placed foam board over that for my floor. You’ll be glad of anything you do to reduce noise. Just knock on the panels with your fist to compare sound transmission on areas with and without the spray liner. You may want to add some sound dampening to your panels that don’t already have it.

Good luck!
