Recharging cordless batteries

I will be in a remote location rehabbing a structure. I am bringing my cordless drill and saw. What is the wisdom of using my van via a dc/ac converter to recharge the tool’s batteries?

Greetings!

I would probably choose a cheap gas generator.

Cheers!

Nancy,
You certainly can charge your tools’ rechargeable batteries from an inverter connected to your house batteries - just do not connect the inverter to your starter battery. That’d be a no-no!
Just ensure you have enough stored power in your house battery bank for whatever loads you will draw (battery charging, coffee brewing, fridge, sewing machine, etc.) and also make sure that your inverter is rated to handle the power required by your particular expected loads.
