Newbie needing advice on which van to buy…

Does anyone have suggestions on a van, pre-2010 era, that is most reliable with reasonable gas mileage?

Hi all! :waving_hand:

I’m on the upper side of middle aged. I lived in a dodge grand caravan for many years before moving into an apartment a few years ago. I’m living on a small retirement stipend and I’m tired of handing my small retirement income over to the man. Also, living in an apartment has been a suffocating experience after living the van life all those years.

My first step is to decide what vehicle to live in. I currently have a small “suv” “crossover”. I like it for the reliability and gas mileage, but there isn’t much room.

Thanks,

HollyJean

Most reliable are Toyota Sienna. I have one converted to camper. Here are some ideas:

Also, here is a pic of how I mounted the solar panels (2 X 100 watt) If you remove the back corners of the roof racks you can slide them right in. I used 1” round-head bolts with a 1/4” shoulder which slid right into the racks. The panels are from Renogy. (Be sure to measure correctly as some panels may vary in size. Google “Sienna Camper Van” and you will find many options.

Thank you! There’s a Sienna for sale locally that I’d like to buy.

I’m looking forward to hitting the road!
