New and looking for fellow crazy minds

Introduce Yourself…

Hi I’m looking for some answers and thought this would be just the place.

Soooo… I had a crazy idea that came to me in a dream. Little backstory, I’ve been obsessed with this Australian dude and his family orientated build in cottage style. He put his bathroom/shower in a room just behind the bulkhead. I love that idea. Now I want to take that a step further but don’t know how…

The idea is that the cab would have 3 seats, but behind the middle seat there would be a door into the bathroom from the cab and then another door into the back. Why I want this is for multiple reasons. 1. It increases stealth (middle seat would “hide” the door into the back when it’s up) 2. Easy to go to the bathroom when driving (toilet would be a tethford c220) and 3. It would just be super cool.

Now for the question… Is there a way the backrest of the middle chair can be folded out of the way of the door and then be put back when entering the bathroom? First I thought swivel chair but that’s not very possible with double/2seater bench and I want to keep the 3rd chair as I want to go with the whole family of 3.

Thanks in advance, I have lots of kooky ideas and think this exactly is the place of my like-minded tribe.

Greetings & Welcome!

3 people in the cab is miserable for driving. Better to have buckets and an easy walkway into the back. You can still put a wet bath behind the drivers seat though if you like. Just make it a little longer instead of wider.

What’s your planned sleeping arrangement for 3 people?

Cheers!

Yes thought so too saw another setup now that fits our idea better where there it’s two seats in the cab and two in the back (passenger on a swivel). Then I could still make the bulkhead with a sliding door for stealth somehow.

Sleeping arrangements would be one bed over the garage, then a second bed on top. If it’s just the two, the top bed could hide the bottom like the lid on a shoebox when the bottom is not in use and can be raised and attached to points higher up in my idea. Thinking of the IKEA skorva supports or however that’s written.

It’s still a long way until I get to that point but I’m preplanning a lot already and seeing what fits our lifestyle most

Greetings!

The problem with bulkheads these days is that the thieves carry battery powered saws & grinders, and they think that means there is something valuable behind them.

I would just do a dark fleece curtain, easier yet insulating…

Cheers!
