It’s done! Last thing was to modify the futon frame to make room for storage underneath and then slide it in. Ready to hit the road - just need to pack it and go.

Made the awning from an 8x10’ canvas tarp, and the frame from 3/4" electrical conduit and some “Zip Wall” extendable poles left over from a painting project.
