Holes in the door!

Hi,

New here! Just starting my first conversion on a 2019 Mercedes Vito. Getting the insulation in successfully, but I’ve just gone to do the two back doors and realised there’s some holes at the bottom of the door (pre drilled, from the factory). Wondering if I should fill these somehow? Worried about stuffing the insulation in and forgetting about them, only for water to somehow get in there and then make my insulation soggy.

I think it’s unlikely that water would get in there, because it would have to travel upwards, but I can see daylight shining through them when the door is closed so just a bit worried about this being an issue.

Pictures below!

Cheers,

Haydn

Greetings!

Those are likely drain holes or ventilation holes, do not block.

Cheers!

Yes, looks like drain holes, at least some of them. Water can get inside through the top parts in surprising ways so want to have drain holes. Water splashing in fron the bottom though these holes wouldn’t create nearly as much problem as water that got in topwise and has nowhere to go, I think. You can even create some semi permeable barrier between these holes and the insulation, probably, just to avoid bottom of the insulation getting soggy.
