Getting a Sprinter repaired on the road

I was having a discussion the other day with some folks about various van companies and one person made the comment, “Sprinter vans are Mercedes based and good luck getting service from Billy Bob’s car repair in the boonies”. Really?

So I put the question out there in VanLife land, have you had any issues getting your Sprinter (or others for that matter) fixed in a timely manner in the smaller off-the-beaten-path parts of the Western US?

I have also heard this and wondered the same thing, since my partner and I have talked about upgrading to a sprinter one day.

Haven’t heard that about sprinters specifically, but have definitely heard something similar about Mercedes in general. Lets wait and see if a Sprinter owner can hop on and clarify this for us.
