Diesel heaters; approved by Canadian insurance providers for vans/cars?

Greetings

Good forum so far!

Question about Diesel heaters in vans/cars:

  1. Are they often covered by car/van insurance providers in the event of accidents of any sort OR can they be used to deny you coverage?
  2. I guess diesel heaters need to have some form of government approval, like CSA or related to be covered by insurance providers?

No idea about camper vans. But most big trucks have a diesel heater, and most bigger boats have a diesel heater. Insurance companies are probably, and should be, more concerned about propane, especially on boats. A simple rule of thumb. A fire is annoying, and explosion can ruin your entire day.
I have a diesel heater on my boat, cost about $2,000.
I have a propane heater in my camper van, cost about $150.

I use a portable liquid candle heater that will run on diesel, but I prefer cooking oil.

Since it requires no installation, it’s no problem with insurance, and only cost about $5.00 to build using dollar store parts.

I think I found the directions on this forum, sure beats the buddy heaters.
