Canadians Insurance health/travel/RV

Hi!
Question for Canadian travelers (U.S friends this is because I know there are differences in the U.S.)

We have been on the road for a year and a half. We have a permanent address in B.C. that is where we file our taxes, register and insure our vehicle and have our B.C.MSP (healthcare).

The rules in Canada seem to be different by province but essentially there are restrictions on residence, they want you in your home province for 5/7 months of the year to keep your healthcare. I was able to renew my vehicle insurance and registration remotely this year (but wouldn’t be able to do it remotely next time).

So the question is how do fellow Canadian travelers work around this? We travel full time so we don’t want to be in any one place for 6 months at a time.

We know we can only be in the U.S for 6 months (due to tax issues) but when we are back in Canada we still want to travel.

Looking for ideas and suggestions
Also curious if anyone uses expat insurance?

Thanks in advance✌

Greetings!

I can’t help, but hopefully somebody can.

Cheers!
