Canada Van adventure at 18/19 years old

Hey there vanlovers,

Me and my friend from the UK are looking into travelling around Canada from April to July 2020 as a part of our gap year before heading to uni. Does anyone know whether it’s possible to get affordable insurance on vehicles in Canada if the drivers are under 21 and have only recently got their licenses? Also what kind of budget would we need to buy a van to sleep us two in … also is it possible to resell a van at the end of a trip? We are planning to do a massive road trip across country from Vancouver to the Atlantic coast.

Thanks in advance for any help and advice you can give. We’re really into camping and there doesn’t seem to be any other options because of our age for renting vehicles if we want to get to some remote countryside places.

Good luck on your travels on your travels everyone!

Greetings & Welcome!

I’m in the USA, but I think this advice is universal… Call an insurance broker that handles many different insurance companies. Explain your plans, and see what they have to offer.

Good Luck & keep us posted!

Cheers!
