TangerineVanGreece

Hey all! My name is Gabriel, I’m from Greece, born the last year of the 70’s. By trade I am a cinematographer and a volunteer forest firefighter. I’m a dad of 3 (Boy12, Boy9 Girl7) and I love being in the woods…by the sea too, but mostly in the woods. My two sons ride downhill bikes, my eldest competes and we all ski or snowboard. My daughter rides horses. I originally got the van idea from a fellow bike dad at a race we went to who had camped out with his family by the finish line, then started thinking we can do our weekends in the snow with a van rather than renting cabins (thought it would be cheaper too, who knew!). So our goal is short term stay but in all climates, we only sleep and hang out in the van, cooking outside, chemical toilet for emergency in the middle of a storm or freezing night. The van is a 1996 Ford Transit mid height mid wheelbase, orange colored so named The Tangerine Van, after a ski film called The Tangerine Dream that made me start craving the mountain life in 2005. The layout is to sleep 5, really well insulated…Cant think of much else.
