Propane and Insurance in Canada

Introduce Yourself…

Hello everyone! I am having a difficult time finding a solution in regards to my propane setup and finding an insurance company that will provide me with coverage.

The propane specialists I’ve spoken with tell me they won’t inspect my setup because it’s custom and the tank is installed inside the vehicle.

Has anyone found a way around having propane installed in the van while also successfully finding an insurance company (in Canada) to provide coverage?

May be temporarily install the tank on the outside, such as cargo carrier, if thats the problem, get cerified and then move the tank? Hiring a pro to “reinstall” the system might work too

Have you checked with Co-Operators? They were the only insurance company I could find that would insure a self-conversion. That being said, I have decided not to use propane, and they definitely asked if I had propane.
