Looking to move from teardrop camper to self contained van camping
Greetings & Welcome!
Why a van? Motorhomes can often be had for much less than a van, are move in ready, and are a whole lot more comfortable. They cost less to insure too.
With a good bath and a little tlc they can look nearly new again too.
The older pre-computerized vehicles are much more reliable and cheaper to repair than anything newer, and they were built in an era when quality mattered.
A friend just bought an immaculate 1978 Dodge Class C motorhome for $1200. It only had 40k miles on it, and needs nothing to be 100% road worthy. He said the insurance is only $300 a year. Not bad for a full featured, comfortable, tiny home on wheels.
