I am also new here…and though I have had the van for over a year, I just gave up my apartment a month ago and have moved into the van full time. I too have a lot to learn but so far the adventure has been OK.
I am sorta static because I do have to stay in the area for work…but I will stealth camp on the city streets.
This sounds like a great way to live the vanlife while still learning! Where are you hoping to adventure too?
I am not new to the vanlife thing, I lived in a van- though it was parked on a ranch, next to my home!) for 8 months and only used the house to shower, because I loved living in the van so much.
Anyway, I hope your stay is good, and that you get good advice here, for your build, and lifestyle.
